The rangers at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary brought this versatile plant to our attention.
It is traditionally used to rob bee hives. The wild mint is mixed with grass and set alight. Its smoke stupefies the bees, giving you (hopefully!) sting free honey.
Stewed in boiling water, wild mind makes a tea which is good for asthma sufferers or if you have a fever.
The stem can be pulled in to bristles, making wild mint a super natural tooth brush.
