Boozy Braaied Bananas

The director of Back to Africa, Hamish Currie, told us about this classic recipe with a naughty twist!

IngredientsBraaied Bananas

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 Cadbury Flakes
  • 4 lugs of Kahlúa Liqueur


  1. Slice through the length of the bananas, being careful not to pierce the skin on the other side.
  2. Break up the Cadbury Flakes and stuff as much of the chocolate as you can into the bananas.
  3. Double wrap each banana individually in tin foil and place on hot coals or an oven preheated to 200ºC for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Unwrap the bananas and serve with Kahlúa Liqueur. You could also add chopped almonds to give a dreamy nutty crunch or berries as we have here.
